Joleen Kremin, C.P.A.
PhD candidate, Accounting
Joleen is entering her third year as a PhD student in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Joleen earned her bachelors and Masters degrees in Accounting from Southern Utah University. Prior to returning for her Ph.D., she worked as an senior auditor for Tanner LC, in Salt Lake City Utah. At Tanner LC she maintained a relatively varied clientele, including SEC Clients, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas and various service firms. She earned her Certified Public Accountant's license in the fall of 2009.
Joleen's current research interests include audit behavioral decision theory with an emphasis on cognitive psychology. She is currently working on several projects that look into the self-control practiced by members of the audit profession and the subsequent audit quality outcomes. She teaches a section of the Introduction to Financial Accounting class and loves being in the classroom.
Joleen enjoys cooking for friends and throwing parties. She loves to travel with friends and family and keeps a running list of places to visit on almost every continent. She has lived abroad in Switzerland for 18 months and considers it a second home, and she speaks conversationally fluent German. Joleen loves learning new things and is constantly taking up new hobbies. Joleen loves getting involved in service organizations and she has spent several years during her undergraduate and graduate work encouraging and supporting Service Learning as a pedagogy.
