Last but not least day 3!

1st stop
Today is Alexandria VA. This parade in Old Town Alexandria is "The largest Parade Celebrating Washington’s Birthday in the USA!" The parade dates back to at least 1923 and features bands, floats, wagons, horses, historic reenactment units, youth groups, and special performances. It was BIG and we didn't stay the whole 2 hours. Sunny day but windy and cool.

Martha and George Washington Feb. 22, 1732- December 14, 1799.
He was a great man and believed in freedoms that we all  now enjoy. I am Thankful for him and many others who sacrificed their time, money and lives for us to be free. I read a book about Martha and George after I came home last time, titled Mt Vernon Love Story. Great read and fast and easy.
 The girls!
 2nd Stop
Vietnam Memorial Wall. This was really neat.
In 1982 the American people helped The Vietnam Veterans Memorial fund complete an impossible mission to heal a nation and bring comfort and solace to a generation of Veterans. The Wall is a revered monument built for the survivors, families, and for a conflicted nation.

Part of the wall was just the right size for Caroline to walk around. Technology is amazing these days. Matt had his phone and looked up the info about the wall and read it to us as we looked and walked by it.

mommy and daughter. They love each other!
Grandpa and pumpkin!

daddy-daughter! He is a sweet dad!

 3rd stop
Lincoln Memorial. It was so big and massive. Lincolns birthday is Feb 12th. 1809. He died April 15th 1865. He was a great man standing up for his believes. Thank you

Washington Monument from the top of the Lincoln Memorial. Awesome view of the city.
 Family picture! Aren't they cute?

4th Stop
Thomas Jefferson Memorial
Here to was a great man as well. If you want a good show watch John Adams. It tells the story of the first 3 presidents. It is a really good movie and a few discs long but worth every hour.
Matt took baby to the car and Raquel, Mark and I all walked over to see this one and we weren't disappointed. Matt drove over and picked us up
Father daughter!
 5th stop
Ted's Bulletin Restaurant in down town DC. Good choice Matt. Raquel and Matt being cute after a long day of my picture taking.
I did get them to take my picture. Loved my meal of sweet potato soup and salad with home made onion rings. SO GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Little Miss here is trying to do her mad face on command from  her father. It was pretty cute to watch her do is as Matt asks her to "give me you mad face now your happy face" So funny!
Here is the BEST one ever!! This was a BIG DAY and she never gave us a moments troubles. She was perfect all day long.
We flew out the next morning and had a few tears. I'll be back in 3 weeks to give her more hugs.
