We spent the day on Mosby Mountain up above Lapoint. we had a great day with my mom and Chuck, Lance, Becky & Jericka. Jessica and Curtis also came with us and brought their three little men, Jace, Cade and Corbin. Mark pulled the 4-wheelers up and the kids had a ball on them. Yes I took a ride. It was nice. We had lunch and visited and looked around the cabin. My great grandfather George W. Walkup was the Whiterocks District ranger on Mosby MT. My grandma Fern played up here as a child. They lived at the Ranger Station in Farm Creek. This was a cabin grandpa build for him to stay in while he would patrol this area. He build it in his spare time from 1926-1930. My mom remembers coming here as a child. George built all the buildings you see and everything that went in them. The restore this cabin this year and it has taken a lot of time and money. The brought a crane up the mountain and lifted up the house and poured a new foundation. The re stored the inside and keep most of the cupboards. I They took out the -eds he made and put in new ones. It is still closed for a few more weeks as they re-paint the out side.As of 08-09-14 you can rent it for family reunions or just for the experience.
It was AWESOME.
