05-22-14 Vacation in Texas

1st. We left Vernal and stayed over night in Farmington, New Mexico on day 1. We stayed with some good friends Mari and Anthony Chavez. We had a great visit and dinner. The boys are looking at their HUNTING schedules. Deep in thought.

2nd we arrived in Lubbock Texas the next evening for the BIG Dr. Kremin Bash. Fernie and grandpas at first sight. She is a dolly. Raquel and Sally did most of the work and we just funded the party. Sally (Joleen's good friend) did all the work to get the invited out, buy the food and pretty much did it all with a little help from the Kremin Sisters. THANK YOU!

Joleen opening her pearl earrings and new travel case.
Dr Denton Collins was her teacher, mentor and friend.

3rd. On Saturday morning we headed for our BIG vacation in San Antonio and Dallas/Fort Worth area. 6 hour car ride and Fernie was an Angel.

Day 1 - Our first picture in San Antonio on the river walk.
By afternoon we meet up with Dani and Jens and spent the next 3 days together. It was AWESOME!
Day 2 We went to church at San Antonio 10th Ward. We meet a couple who were also visited and when we told them we were from Vernal Utah they said their son in law was from Vernal Utah. We know his parents. The missionaries spoke and we asked them if they knew Elder Derek Reasch (from our ward) and they did, small world. We stayed at the Best Western on the River walk right next to the Alamo Dome. After church we did some site seeing on the river walk and had dinner there. It was a great day with Dani and Jens.

DAY 3- We went and picked up Brett and Cami Rush's kiddos who are Raquel and Matt's niece and nephews. We went to float the river and ended up at the pool because the river was closed. we had a good time with them. Great kids. Best part of the day was we got taco's from a taco stand that were SO GREAT!!

Day 4 We drove to Dallas-Fort Worth area but before we did, we stopped by the Rushs and went to breakfast. It was great to see Brett and Cami as they were gone on a trip and we didn't  think we could see them. Brett just got home from being deployed to Bagram Afghanistan and planned a weekend get away with Cami.
THANK YOU TO ALL THE SERVICE MEN WHO PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS!
We then drove 5 hours to see the Dallas Rangers play the Seattle Mariners. It was a fun night. We stay at the Marriott Suites at Arlington, right next to the ball park. The Marriott had a complimentary Trolley that would take us to the ball park and back.
We then headed back to Lubbock to help Joleen do a few  honey dos on her home.
After our visit she sold her home the very next day.

See that face- that is how she was MOST of the whole trip. Such a great babe!
Saying good bye to Raquel and Dani and Jens. They all fly out of Dallas the same morning.

Good bye Texas Hello Portland in two months.
