Alaska Day 4 May 27th. Icy Strait Point.
Mark was a character as always. I love this picture of he and Gayle. He was standing behind her and flicking her hair oh so gently as she thought there was a bug or something on her hair. Then she discovered the bug was Mark. It was so funny.
Ok so here is day 4. First thing it was a bay with no dock so the ship dropped the anchor and we all had to be taken in boats to shore. This was our BIG day of the bear watch and whale watch.
We were on the ship the Millennium with Celebrity Cruise line. Did I say it was GREAT? There she is on all her glory. When we got ashore they took us in a bus about 30 minutes inland and we saw a bear oh yeah! That was it in all his glory. We didn't see any thing We did learn a lot about the Tongass Rain Forest, they have over 200 inches of rain a year. We saw lots of salmon berries and beautiful rain forest. NO BEARS! We also learned a lot about the community named Hoonah and the Indian tribe the Tlingit Tribe. We had a great host and he had some great stories about the people
On the other hand we did see a lot of whales. Mark, I and Kim and Deanna went on the whale boat and saw a lot of the hump back whales. We then went back to the ship and had a very nice meal with our cute waiters Wirawan and Paermadi (from Bali). I am not sure where Wirawan was from but I loved them and the took great care of us every night.
The sunsets were amazing. Kris got some really good shots. Thanks
I loved Gayle and her cute personality.

Day 5 Juneau May 28th.
Kim and Kris went on a picture taking tour and got some great pictures of the Orca Whales. They are the only ones who saw the Orca or Killer Whales as they are best known for. They are beautiful an BIG. The rest of us took Dixie and Earl on the tram ride in Juneau to the top of the mountain. It was so fun and the views were great. Mark once again teasing poor Gayle. When we were on the top of the mountain they had a store and a Theater. We saw this wonderful family here The Zahasky's sing and play many string instruments. They were gifted. Go to the link and you will see them. Dixie and Earl loved it. We took them back to the ship and hooked up with Kris and Kim and we did some shopping and looking around Juneau. We had a great day there. Kevin and Sharon were on a tour and we meet them back on ship for dinner. We had one other couple on our dinner table named Linda and Jim Nelson from Canada. They were great people and fit right in with our family.
Day 6 Skagway May 29th
Kris and Gayle took Dixie and Earl on the train ride up the White Pass trail. They loved it. It is the trial where the Gold Rush took place. It was a crazy rough place. Kim and Deanna and us went looking around the town and we saw some museums that were very interesting. They were about how and why people came there. There were some strong women who came and settled this town of mostly men. It was such a great day in the high 70's that Deanna and I set in the sun and had a great time.
That evening it was Kevin's birthday so we had the ship crew sing to him.
Day 7 May 30th Hubbard Bay Glacier
When we got there it had been so warm that we couldn't get to close to the glacier. Kris took this picture in the morning from the upper deck and not knowing a few family member's are in the picture. The pictures below are all on that day of cruising and see the glaciers. It was our only cold and raining day. This was our last night on the boat. I took pictures of us all at dinner. We had some great food. That day we had a big brunch in the main dinning area. I took some pictures of the food. They picture of the flowers is all veggies. They are radishes, turnips, parsnips. It is true I went and asked what it was. CRAZY!
Day 8 May 31st
We docked in Seward and Justin and Hayley, Jocelynn Baird picked us up and keep us all day then dropped us off at the airport for the red eye flight. Good byes at the airport. Miss Jocelynn was the cutest babe EVER! Thanks for inviting us. Love ya all Colette
