2nd year in a row we ran the Turkey Trot in Lubbock. It was great fun. Not sure our rankings as we had to run (haha) get the Turkey in the oven. They are still not posted. We did do it under 23 minutes. Last year we did it under 20 minutes. This year we were not as prepared as last year. It was a bit cool and windy, but what day isn't windy in west Texas.
Joleen did the perfect turkey. Brine it for days and she rubbed a butter rosemary rub all over it. It was GREAT!! We had the dinner at the LDS Institute building.
Here is the wonderful table setting for 14 on the best paper wear we could find.
Joleen wanted everyone to write on these cloth table clothes the things they were thankful for. I had a hard time writing on a perfectly good table cloth but I finally did and I could have filled it up with my thanks.
Serving table. Everything was so great. It was pot luck and you all did well girls!!
Jo and Jonathan. Taking a break after the Big meal!! Jonathan hoping he could get one last bit of jello if he laid down as he ate.
Group Photo and the current temp at the time, if you can't read it, it says 79 degrees. No lie!
