Women's Conference-Who We Are!

Maesar Stake was in charge this year. They asked Sister Camille Fronk Olson and a music group named "One Clear Voice" to speak and sing. Both were wonderful and very uplifting.

First I will start will sister Olson, she is a Ph. D. in sociology of the Middle East. She is a professor of Ancient Scripture at BYU. She talked to us about how we treat each other and how we judge each other. She wrote the book Mary, Martha, and Me. She talked about how we always mark Mary as "the Good sister" and Martha as "the not so Good sister". She talked about how they both have great worth and related that story to us now. She told us some stories about women in the Bible. How we only know VERY little about them and how there is more to them then meets the eye, so to speak. it was very good. She was funny and spiritual.

Four very talented sisters sang and spoke to us. They took the Relief Society Declaration and talked about each part and then sang a song with each part. It was very good. Very spiritual.

They sang the song "For Good" from the play "Wicked". it was so touching and I felt so much love for all the women in my life. my mom, my daughters, grandmothers, sisters, friends. WOW!

We are beloved spirit daughters of God, and our lives have meaning, purpose, and direction. As a worldwide sisterhood, we are united in our devotion to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Exemplar. We are women of faith, virtue, vision, and charity who:
Increase our testimonies of Jesus Christ through prayer and scripture study.
Seek spiritual strength by following the promptings of the Holy Ghost.
Dedicate ourselves to strengthening marriages, families, and homes.
Find nobility in motherhood and joy in womanhood.
Delight in service and good works.
Love life and learning.
Stand for truth and righteousness.
Sustain the priesthood as the authority of God on earth.
Rejoice in the blessings of the temple, understand our divine destiny, and strive for exaltation.
