More to come! So here it is.
I flew to Portland on August 5th with my friend Penelope Hanberg to meet Joleen and her friend Sallie. We went apartment hunting with Jo. Penelope had a family problem and turned right around and fly back to SLC the next day. It was a crazy deal. But we had a good time for as long as we had her. First stop when we got in was dinner and a Mexican place her friend recommended. It was ok. Then off we went to explore her new office and the down town shopping. It is very Park Cityish like. The temple was closed but we did go see the Temples grounds. SO BEAUTIFUL! We also found her church and a cute but very small apartment for her. All in 3 days. I got to see my big brother for a short 20 minute visit but more visits will be coming soon. We then fly to Texas to pick up her car. we drove all the way from Lubbock to Vernal in one day. It took 15 hours but we made it and we were very tired little chicks. We made a few stops along the way like Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo Texas. It was Matt Bells birthday that day so we sent him a happy birthday instagram. We took a lot of selfies.
Then leg two of the trip came on August 20th we we drover from Vernal to Portland Oregon in one day. It was long but we had the three of us and we had a great day. We stopped on Boise for lunch and Joleen's friend Sara Everett came to visit us at Taco Bell. She was Joleen's mission comp who she loved very much. It was short but sweet. She is married and has 3 beautiful daughters. We hit the Oregon Trail at about 3 that afternoon and the rest was cake. Well until we saw those moving pods then the work began. Joleen had 2 movers to help us but still took us 3 hours to unload to floor 3 of the Beaumont Apartments on Fremont Street. we needed a few fans as it was pretty warm. Joleen and Mark made a few trips to IKEA to get new lights, books shelf's, tables. that took most of a day to get together. we got the beds put up and then we left the next day back to Utah. Raquel picked us all up and off to Vernal we went. we did have lots of great places to eat right close to h er apartment. It was a quick 2 day race to help her get some what unpacked.
